Chemical fogging: Applying chemical disinfectants to production areas as fogs or mists is a method used routinely in the food industry. The purpose is to create and disperse a disinfectant aerosol to reduce the numbers of airborne micro-organisms and also to apply disinfectant to surfaces that may be difficult to reach. Fogging is achieved using either a static, purpose-built system in a factory area with strategically placed nozzles or, more commonly, a mobile unit. With our disinfection and sanitization service available across the Greater Toronto Area, you can rest assured that we cover every corner, nook, and cranny of your home as we fight the spread collectively.

The equipment supersaturates the atmosphere with a disinfectant fog; the area covered will vary depending on the application system being used. A built-in system will typically be used for production areas >200m3, with mobile units usually being employed for areas <200m3,. Under typical conditions, fogging is carried out for a minimum of 15–30min to enable the fog to disperse and the chemical action to occur. After fogging, an additional period of 45–60min is required to allow the droplets to settle out of the air and onto the surfaces. Electrostatic charging of chemical fogs during aerosolization can improve the application as the droplets will be attracted to surfaces that are electrically charged.

A reason as mentioned above is that is relatively cheap to disperse fog as a mean to disinfect surfaces. Simply put the fog naturally covers a larger surface area in much lesser time than traditional disinfecting methods would take. But as with everything the release of disinfectant fog should be only considered when needed and appropriate as misuse can result in grave consequences for the people being in the space and the ones around you. This is why professionals should be hired to let them do the job and do a proper assessment of what method is the safest for a particular job.

With the recently found tests regarding coronavirus that it can stay on surface areas for up to three days it is critical that you take cleaning, sanitization, and disinfection very seriously as to limit the chances of being infected by it greatly. As we are all facing uncertain times where new cases are being reported around the globe each day it is important to practice self-isolation and to only go out when it is essential to reduce the chances of infection and propagation. With our services we offer treatments of commercial as well as a private property using non-toxic chemicals containing a botanical active ingredient so that the treatment does not require you to vacate the house.
